Why choose CarbonCentric?
Why is CarbonCentric better?
Gain insights during design and procurement of a development, when optioneering can still be completed.
What does it achieve?
CarbonCentric is a consultant-led web application that allows Embodied Carbon of individual work packages to be managed throughout the design, procurement, and delivery of construction projects.
What problem does it solve?
Main contractors and clients are able to assess sub-contract offers instantaneously, against the design budget for each package of work.
How is it operated?
The whole process is managed by our highly skilled LCA consultants, who will use the platform to engage with the Main Contractor and their supply-chain, to examine reduction opportunities.
Case Study: 11 & 12 Wellington Place, Leeds
Total Carbon Saving: 333kg CO2e/m2
CarbonCentric was born out of collaboration between consultant teams & the supply-chain to address the struggle of managing carbon data.
This is exemplified by Mainer Associates and Wates working together on 11 & 12 Wellington Place in 2020:
Ambitious carbon targets fuelled innovation
Strong collaboration with Wates’ supply-chain
Real-time management enabled early interventions & optioneering by consultants
40% reduction against Stage 3 result
30% reduction on RIBA 2030 benchmark
Proven concept
“The CarbonCentric App supports carbon management through the supply chain during Stage 4, where interventions can still make a meaningful impact.
CarbonCentric adds significant value - not only through measurable carbon savings but also because it is a scalable solution that enhances Wates’ ability to deliver low-carbon projects in future.”
